Ansbacher Skulpturen-Rundgang
Martin-Luther-Platz 1, 91522 Ansbach
There are a number of misconceptions surrounding this fountain and its sculpture. Originally created by the Margrave's Councillor Dr. Pfotel as a gift to Margrave Kasimir (1515), it was dedicated to Margrave Georg (reigned 1528 - 1543) by false tradition. It was renewed in 1780 and in the 19th century. And the figure that is supposed to represent Margrave George is actually a depiction of a knight in field armor from around 1500.
